Quiet hours in Collier County, FL — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
In unincorporated Collier County, residential nighttime sound (10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) is capped at 55 dB(A)/67 dB(C); the daytime limit is 60 dB(A)/72 dB(C). Cities like Naples and Marco Island set their own rules.
Collier County's Noise Control Ordinance (Code Ch. 54, Art. IV) sets Table I limits by use occupancy. For residential-use sites, sound must not exceed 60 dB(A)/72 dB(C) from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., or 55 dB(A)/67 dB(C) after 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. A sound only violates if it also exceeds the ambient level by at least 5 dB(A) or 5 dB(C). Everyday lawn care, power tools, and normal community operations are exempt between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Under Sec. 54-90, fines are $100 first violation, $250 second, and $500 third or more (max $500). Each incident is a separate offense; repeat noise equipment may be confiscated.
