Under Code § 210.205, any excessive, unnecessary or loud noise produced by a public address system, radio, TV, phonograph, boom box, or similar sound-amplifying device is unlawful if it disturbs the comfort, repose, health or safety of others in the vicinity. The County applies a lower measured-decibel ceiling for the 10:00 p.m.-to-8:00 a.m. window than for the 8:00 a.m.-to-10:00 p.m. daytime window, using an A-weighted sound meter at the source property line. School stadiums, public pools and golf courses are exempt only while operating between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
