Full Breakdown

St. Charles County's Property Maintenance Code, Section 302.8, bars parking, keeping, or storing any motor vehicle or trailer on a premises if it's unlicensed, unregistered, in a state of disassembly or disrepair, or being stripped or dismantled; each recurrence after a violation notice is a separate continuing violation. Under the companion Vehicle Removal Code, Section 500.540, a code official or the County Chief of Police can declare the vehicle a nuisance, give the owner and property occupant seven days' written notice and a hearing, then enter the property and tow it, billing removal and storage costs to the owner or occupant.

Violations & Fines

The vehicle owner and the property owner or occupant are jointly and individually liable for towing, storage, and advertising costs; interfering with a code official's removal of the vehicle is itself unlawful.
