These county ordinances apply to unincorporated areas of St. Charles County. Incorporated cities within the county may have their own rules that take precedence over county-level regulations.

On any lot or parcel with a dwelling, no more than one (1) trailer or item of recreational equipment shall be parked or stored outside a fully enclosed structure, nor shall such trailer or recreational equipment stored outdoors exceed twenty-four (24) feet in length or eight and one-half (8.5) feet in width... No trailer or recreational equipment shall be parked or stored on any driveway, street or adjacent right-of-way except for loading/unloading purposes, and for no more than forty-eight (48) consecutive hours in any one week.

Full Breakdown

Under UDO Section 405.420(A), a residential lot may store only one trailer or piece of recreational equipment outside an enclosed structure, capped at 24 feet long and 8.5 feet wide. It must sit in the side or rear yard at least 7 feet from any property line, on a maintained all-weather surface. Parking on a driveway, street, or right-of-way is allowed only for loading/unloading, capped at 48 consecutive hours per week. The stored unit's owner must also own or rent the lot.
