Dunedin Code Chapter 22 (Code Enforcement) and related Land Development Code provisions prohibit storing inoperable, junk, or abandoned vehicles on residential property and authorize removal.
Under Chapter 22 of the Dunedin Code of Ordinances and supporting Land Development Code provisions, vehicles that are wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperative, or unable to be moved under their own power may not be stored on residential property unless fully enclosed within a garage. Vehicles must be currently registered, have valid tags, and be in operable condition to remain visible on a lot. The City may declare such vehicles a nuisance. Abandoned vehicles on public rights-of-way may be towed under Florida Statutes Chapter 715 procedures. Owners receive notice and an opportunity to cure before removal or impoundment.
Code Enforcement issues a notice of violation. Continued storage results in daily fines and potential vehicle removal at the owner's expense.
