Lake County, FL Parking Rules: Abandoned Vehicles (2026)

Lake County Code Section 23-98 (Abandoned or Disabled Property, Junk, Trash, Debris) requires that any property such as inoperable vehicles, old appliances, furniture, machinery or construction materials be stored in a completely enclosed, permitted structure or removed. The LDR defines a vehicle or vessel as abandoned or derelict when it is 'in a state of evident disuse, neglect or abandonment,' including being wrecked or inoperative (e.g., vegetation growing under it, partially dismantled, no engine). Any abandoned or derelict vessel or RV must be stored in an enclosed permitted structure (LDR 3.06.03). Statewide, FS 705.101-705.103 define abandoned property and set the removal-after-notice process.
