Metro Code Chapter 12.40 and Chapter 12.42 restrict commercial vehicle parking throughout Davidson County. Semi-trucks and tractor-trailers are prohibited from parking on residential streets. Ordinance BL2017-941 established a Commercial Permit Parking Program for designated commercial areas, allowing business employees and owners to obtain permits for their commercial vehicles. Permit fees are set annually by the Department of Public Works based on the number of permit spaces and administrative costs. Standard parking violation fine: $50.
