Yolo County, CA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Under Title 8 (Land Development and Zoning), Chapter 2, Article 13, section 8-2.1314 of the Yolo County Code, commercial vehicle parking is tightly restricted on residential property in any residential zone within the unincorporated County. The section prohibits parking 'any commercial vehicle' in a residential zone except for the 'immediate loading or unloading of goods or people.' The provision applies regardless of whether the vehicle belongs to a resident, contractor, or visitor. Loading or unloading is intended to be brief, not a means of long-term commercial vehicle storage. The section works alongside section 8-2.1304 (General parking provisions), which prohibits using required off-street parking areas for 'the sale, lease, display, repair, or storage of vehicles, trailers, boats, campers, mobile homes, merchandise, or equipment.'
