040 of the Yakima County Code targets heavy trucks parked on residential streets in the unincorporated county. The rule is a size-and-weight test rather than a vehicle-type label: it covers all vehicles having a manufacturer's rated carrying capacity of one and one-half tons or exceeding 21 feet, with length measured from the outermost edge of the bumper or any attached appurtenance to the outermost point on the opposite end. A pickup with a service body or a delivery van that clears either threshold counts as a commercial vehicle for this rule even if it is not hauling a load at the moment.

The only exception written into the section is for active loading and unloading, so a delivery truck may stop briefly to make a drop but cannot park on the street between runs or overnight. 010: a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, with each day of continued violation charged as a separate offense. 020's 24-hour limit, together forming Yakima County's residential street-parking scheme; commercial operators based in unincorporated residential neighborhoods need an off-street lot or yard to store their trucks.
