YMC § 9.50.100 sits in Chapter 9.50, Yakima's parking and rules-of-the-road chapter, right after the section flatly prohibiting stopping and parking in specific places (§ 9.50.085) and just before the methods-of-parking rules governing angle parking. It reads in full: "No vehicle exceeding in length twenty feet shall be parked on any street in any residential district for a period exceeding one hour continuous time, except for the expeditious loading or unloading of articles or materials." The 20-foot threshold sweeps in most box trucks, moving vans, larger RVs and tractor-trailer combinations, while ordinary passenger cars, pickups and most SUVs fall well under the line and are unaffected.

The only carve-out is active loading or unloading, and the code calls for it to be "expeditious," so a truck idling at the curb for hours under the pretext of unloading isn't protected. The rule sits alongside other Chapter 9.50 curb-use restrictions with the same residential focus: § 9.50.085 separately bars parking on sidewalks, in the vision-clear-view triangle, between the curb and sidewalk overnight (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.), and within 10 feet of a mailbox on weekdays, and § 9.50.140 requires three feet of clearance from other parked vehicles.

Chapter 9.50 doesn't carry a truck-parking-specific dollar fine in the parking-infraction fee table at YMC § 9.60.030, which lists flat $20 penalties for other listed sections (alley parking, motorcycle stalls, city-lot permits); a truck-parking violation instead falls under that section's default penalty for any unlisted Title 9 violation.
