You may not park within 5 feet of any public or private driveway or junction on an unincorporated county street. New driveways and access points must also meet county multimodal design standards and keep parking off the right-of-way.
Ordinance 2024-1 Section III.4 prohibits parking on a street within five feet of a public or private driveway or junction (a junction being where a driveway, alley, or parking lot meets a street). Separately, the Land Use Code requires new driveways, curb cuts, and access points to meet Boulder County Multimodal Transportation Standards, be tied to a demonstrated principal use, and to keep required parking and turnarounds off the public right-of-way. Driveway design is reviewed at the access-permit stage by the County Engineer and Road Supervisor.
Blocking within 5 feet of a driveway is a $15/$30/$60 civil parking infraction; noncompliant driveway construction is a Land Use Code violation handled through access permitting.
