Waukesha County, WI Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

In the unincorporated towns under Waukesha County zoning, §3.12(3)(A) prohibits any vehicle in an off-street parking area from parking closer than 10 feet to the abutting lot line, and §3.12(3)(B) requires a 10-foot offset from the base setback line. Small-scale residential developments must provide at least two parking spaces per dwelling unit (§3.12(1)(A)). Driveways serving properties are required to be at least 12 feet wide (paved or gravel). Under §3.12(4)(A)4, any off-street parking area other than a single-family residence with capacity for more than four vehicles must be surfaced and maintained dustless. Cities and villages apply their own driveway and setback standards.
