Delaware County does not create or enforce loading zones on public streets. Under the PA Vehicle Code, each borough, township, or city designates loading and no-parking zones by ordinance and marks them with signs or curb paint. The county controls only loading at its own facilities.
Curbside loading zones, freight zones, and passenger loading areas on public streets are established municipally in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.) authorizes local authorities to designate loading zones and regulate stopping, standing, and parking on the streets they control, so a borough or city ordinance creates the zone, sets its hours, and posts the signs. Delaware County has no countywide loading-zone ordinance for municipal streets; it manages loading only at county-owned buildings and park facilities under its own operating rules. If you need a loading zone in front of a business, or want to know a zone's hours, contact your municipality's traffic or public-works department, which administers the local ordinance and signage.
Parking in or blocking a loading zone is a local parking violation, ticketed by municipal police or parking enforcement with fines set by local ordinance; vehicles may be towed. County facility loading rules are enforced by county staff.
