St. Clair County, IL Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Rather than painted curbside loading zones, the St. Clair County Zoning Ordinance regulates off-street loading. Sec. 40-6-9 requires off-street loading facilities for listed uses; Sec. 40-6-10 requires all off-street loading areas to be located on the same lot as the use served; and Sec. 40-6-11 requires access ways at least twelve feet in width built on a stone base surfaced with bituminous concrete. The number of loading spaces required scales with floor area under Sec. 40-6-16 (for example, one loading space for dwelling uses of 20,000 square feet or more). There is no county on-street loading-zone designation for unincorporated highways; those are governed by the Illinois Vehicle Code and, inside cities, by municipal ordinance.
