High Point, NC Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Section 10-1-211 opens Article L, Loading and Unloading, and applies specifically to tractor-trailer trucks on 'any of the streets or portions thereof as described in article P, schedule 11p,' the city's posted list of restricted streets rather than every street citywide. The article then builds out the rest of the loading-zone system: Sec. 10-1-212 authorizes the Director of Transportation to establish freight curb loading zones 'after an engineering investigation' wherever most beneficial to adjacent businesses, and Sec. 10-1-213 does the same for passenger curb loading zones, each requiring an appropriate sign.

Sec. 10-1-214 caps standing in a signed passenger curb loading zone at the time posted on the sign, but 'shall not exceed 30 minutes' regardless, and Sec. ' Sec. 10-1-216 lets the Director create temporary freight zones for short-term loading needs, and Secs. 10-1-217 through 10-1-219 extend the same signed-zone model to bus stops and taxicab stands, including a rule that the Broad Avenue mass transit facility is reserved exclusively for buses and emergency or service vehicles.
