Summit County, OH Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Sec. 09 of the Summit County Traffic Code governs marked truck loading zones in the county's unincorporated territory. It bars stopping, standing or parking a vehicle in a marked truck loading zone for any purpose other than the expeditious unloading and delivery, or pickup and loading, of materials, and only during the hours when the loading-zone restrictions are in effect; outside those hours the space reverts to ordinary parking rules under the rest of Chapter 351. The section sets a hard cap: no loading or unloading stop may exceed thirty minutes regardless of how much cargo remains to be moved.

This chapter sits in Title Seven, Parking, alongside the general standing-and-parking prohibitions of Sec. 03 and the bus-stop and taxicab-stand rules of Sec. 10, and under Sec. 97 the county's Traffic Code reaches every unincorporated parcel unless a conflicting municipal ordinance controls in an incorporated area. Because loading zones are established by local posting rather than by a fixed county-wide list of locations, the thirty-minute cap and the purpose restriction are the operative, code-wide rules that apply wherever a zone is marked.
