Ottawa County, MI Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Section 4(e) of the County Parking Lot Ordinance of Ottawa County states that no person shall park a motor vehicle in space(s) designated as a loading zone except for the purpose of delivery or pick-up of quantities of materials, and any person who parks a motor vehicle in the designated loading zone space(s) shall be limited to thirty minutes. Like the rest of the Ordinance, the rule reaches only a "County Parking Area," defined as a lot at a county park, natural area, courthouse, or other county-owned or leased building that is posted with a sign noting the Ordinance applies; it does not create a countywide loading-zone standard for private lots or municipal streets.

The same subsection separately caps any space marked "limited time parking" at its posted time limit, and bars parking in a designated handicapped space without a current state-issued permit. The Ottawa County Facilities Director administers all of these parking restrictions, and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office and Prosecutor assist with enforcement, including issuing Appearance Tickets to violators.
