Neither Marion County nor Salem bans ordinary overnight parking outright. Salem Revised Code 102.040(j) makes it unlawful to leave any vehicle in the same location on a street for more than five continuous days. On unincorporated county roads within urban growth boundaries, MCC 10.10.060(A)(3) bars any large vehicle in front of or adjacent to a residence, motel, apartment, or other sleeping accommodation in a residential zone between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. County roads also have a three-consecutive-day maximum under MCC 10.10.150.
