Bexar County does not impose general overnight parking bans on residential streets in unincorporated areas. Vehicles may park on streets overnight unless posted signs prohibit it or HOA covenants restrict street parking.
Unincorporated Bexar County does not have a countywide overnight parking ban. Residents and guests can generally park on public streets overnight, though vehicles must not block driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants (within 15 feet per Texas Transportation Code 545.302), or intersections. Parking is prohibited within 30 feet of a stop sign or traffic signal and within 20 feet of a crosswalk. RVs, boats, and trailers stored on public streets for extended periods may be tagged as abandoned under Texas Transportation Code Chapter 683 if left for more than 48 hours. Many subdivision HOAs in the county have their own overnight parking rules that restrict RVs, commercial vehicles, or guest vehicles remaining on the street. If you live inside city limits of San Antonio or a suburban city (Converse, Live Oak, Universal City), city rules apply instead. For commercial trucks over 18,000 pounds, parking on residential streets overnight is typically restricted by subdivision covenants. Enforcement is handled by the Bexar County Sheriff and constables.
