Prince George's County has no blanket overnight ban on residential streets, but Section 26-122 prohibits leaving any vehicle on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours. Commercial trucks, buses, and trailers face an overnight ban from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Prince George's County Code Subtitle 26 does not impose a general overnight parking prohibition on passenger vehicles on County streets. Instead, Section 26-122 makes it unlawful to park or allow a vehicle to stand on any public street or roadway for more than 72 hours, carrying a $50 fine per violation. Overnight parking of commercial buses, commercial trailers, and heavy commercial trucks is separately barred between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. outside municipal limits under Section 26-123. Living or sleeping in a vehicle parked in the public right-of-way is regulated by Section 26-127.06. Municipalities and permit-parking areas (Subtitle 26, Division 9) may impose stricter overnight rules within their boundaries.
Vehicles left over 72 hours on a public street draw a $50 fine (Section 26-122) and may be towed. Commercial vehicles violating the 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. ban face fines starting at $500 and impoundment (Section 26-123).
