Surprise allows overnight street parking on most public roads but prohibits parking for extended periods. Vehicles must be operational and currently registered. Many master-planned communities in Surprise have HOA rules that restrict or prohibit overnight street parking.
The City of Surprise generally permits overnight parking on public streets unless posted otherwise. However, vehicles may not remain parked in the same location for extended periods (typically 72 hours or more) without being moved. All street-parked vehicles must display current Arizona registration and be in operable condition. Inoperable, unregistered, or abandoned vehicles on public streets are subject to towing. Many Surprise neighborhoods within master-planned communities (Surprise Farms, Marley Park, Sun City Grand, CantaMia) have HOA restrictions that prohibit or limit overnight street parking. HOA enforcement is separate from city enforcement. Contact Surprise Police non-emergency at (623) 222-4000 for city street parking issues.
Vehicles parked in the same spot for 72+ hours may be cited and towed. Unregistered or inoperable vehicles on public streets face immediate towing. HOA violations are enforced through the association's fine structure.
