Surprise enforces street parking regulations including time limits on public streets. Vehicles may not be parked on residential streets for more than 72 consecutive hours. Parking on streets during construction or street sweeping may be temporarily prohibited with posted signage.
The City of Surprise enforces street parking regulations through its traffic code and police department. Vehicles may not remain parked in the same location on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours without being moved. Vehicles must be currently registered and display valid plates. Parking is prohibited in fire lanes, within 15 feet of fire hydrants, on sidewalks, and in marked no-parking zones. During major road construction and special events, temporary no-parking zones may be established with posted signs. The Surprise Police Department at (623) 222-4000 handles parking enforcement. Some residential streets in newer developments have narrow widths that restrict on-street parking to one side. HOA communities may have additional parking restrictions. Overnight street parking is generally permitted unless posted otherwise.
Vehicles parked beyond 72 hours may be cited and eventually towed. Parking in fire lanes or blocking hydrants results in immediate citation and potential towing. Contact Police at (623) 222-4000.
