Anderson prohibits any vehicle over seven feet in width from parking on any and all city streets. Length and load limits also apply on designated streets, and trucks/semitrailers over 30 feet are restricted in the congested downtown area.
Traffic Code § 73.01 flatly states that all vehicles over seven feet in width are prohibited from parking on any and all streets (see Traffic Schedule XI). Additional size rules: § 73.02 limits vehicle length on streets listed in Traffic Schedule IX; § 73.03 sets load limits on streets in Schedule X; and § 73.04 bars trucks, tractors, or semitrailers over 30 feet combined length from operating in the congested area (deliveries allowed 9:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m., through-travel on state highways). Commercial vehicles and trucks are separately capped at one hour on residential streets under § 72.17.
Oversized-vehicle violations are punishable under Title VII by a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $500 per offense, plus court docket fees (§ 70.99).
