Anderson's Code of Ordinances and Zoning Ordinance contain no dedicated electric-vehicle charging or EV-parking-space rule. EV parking follows the same on-street parking, off-street parking-surface, and zoning standards as any other vehicle.
A review of Anderson's Traffic Code (Title VII) and Zoning Ordinance (Title XV) found no ordinance regulating electric-vehicle charging stations, EV-only parking spaces, or idling at chargers. Until the city adopts a specific standard, an EV is parked under the general rules: on-street parking must be parallel and within 12 inches of the curb (§ 72.11), off-street parking areas (except single-family homes) must be paved (Zoning Parking Surface standard), and time-limited and no-parking zones apply the same way. Private property owners and businesses set their own charger and EV-space policies. Indiana has no statewide residential EV-parking mandate that overrides this.
No EV-specific penalty exists; ordinary parking violations apply ($10 if paid in 7 days, rising to $40-$500 in court, § 72.99).
