Anderson has no blanket ban on parking a passenger car on a residential street overnight. It does bar trucks and commercial vehicles from parking overnight (midnight to 6:00 a.m.) more than one hour on any street or alley in the business or commercial district.
Anderson's Traffic Code does not impose a citywide overnight parking prohibition on ordinary passenger vehicles on residential streets. The main overnight restriction is § 72.17, which makes it unlawful for a truck or commercial vehicle to park on any street or alley in the business or commercial district between midnight and 6:00 a.m. for longer than one hour, and bars them from residential-district streets for more than one hour any time of day or night. Time-limited zones (2-hour, 20-minute) apply only during posted daytime hours. Vehicles left standing on a street in violation of the code, or that are wrecked or on a police hold, are declared a public nuisance and may be impounded (§ 92.03).
Commercial-vehicle overnight violations carry the Title VII fine of $10 to $500 per offense (§ 70.99); nuisance vehicles may be towed and impounded (Ch. 92).
