Anderson bars trucks and commercial vehicles from parking or standing on any street or alley in a residential district for longer than one hour, day or night. In the business district they may not park more than one hour between midnight and 6:00 a.m.
Traffic Code § 72.17 defines a COMMERCIAL VEHICLE as any vehicle used to transport persons or property for hire (except public-utility carriers), and a TRUCK as a vehicle designed or used primarily to transport property. In residential districts it is unlawful to park or let such a vehicle stand on any street or alley longer than one hour during any period of the day or night. In the business or commercial district, the same vehicles may not park more than one hour between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Separate rules restrict double-parking of trucks during peak hours (§ 72.12) and bar heavy/oversized vehicles from listed streets (Ch. 73).
Violations are punishable under Title VII by a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $500 for each offense, plus court docket fees (§ 70.99).
