Under Anderson Traffic Code § 72.11, no person may stand or park a vehicle in a roadway other than parallel with the edge of the roadway, headed in the direction of traffic, with the curb-side wheels within 12 inches of the roadway edge. On streets marked or signed for angle parking, vehicles must park at the indicated angle. Related sections prohibit parking that leaves less than 10 feet of roadway for traffic (§ 72.04), and ban parking in front of a driveway, within 15 feet of a hydrant, and within 20 feet of a crosswalk or intersection (§ 72.06). Signed narrow streets, school zones, and hazardous areas carry their own restrictions.
Parking violations draw a $10 fine if paid within 7 days, $20 within 30 days; unpaid violations go to court with fines of $40 to $500 per offense (§ 72.99).
