The county cannot regulate oversized-vehicle parking. In the City of Lubbock, no part of a recreational vehicle, recreational equipment or trailer, regardless of size, may extend over the property line or into the sidewalk area.
Texas counties have no zoning authority, so unincorporated Lubbock County sets no oversized-vehicle parking limits beyond the state junked- and abandoned-vehicle laws. The City of Lubbock regulates large vehicles under Code sec. 20.04.017, which also caps vehicles over 1-1/2 tons or 18 feet near homes, and forbids any RV, equipment or trailer from overhanging the property line or sidewalk. Other incorporated towns in the county apply their own size limits.
City of Lubbock: citation for an overhanging or oversized vehicle; may be impounded if abandoned or repeatedly in violation.
