Lubbock permits overnight on-street parking in most residential areas. There is no blanket ban, though vehicles must move every 24 hours and observe street-sweeping and snow-emergency signs.
Unlike many Sun Belt cities, Lubbock does not impose a city-wide overnight parking ban. Residents and guests may leave vehicles on the street overnight, subject to the 24-hour stored-vehicle rule in Chapter 26. During declared winter storm emergencies, the City Manager may temporarily ban parking on designated snow routes such as 19th Street, 34th Street, 50th Street, Slide Road, and Quaker Avenue so plows can operate. Downtown and Depot District metered zones still enforce hours posted on signs, but most meters expire at 6 PM. Apartment complex private lots set their own overnight rules.
Violating posted snow-emergency no-parking: 50 dollar fine plus tow.
