Lubbock Code Section 26-155 prohibits parking commercial vehicles over one ton or over 22 feet long on residential streets for more than two hours except for active loading, unloading, or service calls.
Commercial vehicles include tractor-trailers, dump trucks, wreckers, and delivery trucks with gross weights over one ton (2,000 pounds cargo capacity). They may not be stored overnight on residential streets. Box trucks and service vans under one ton may park at the operators residence if not displaying large advertising. On private property in residential zones, only one commercial vehicle owned or operated by the resident may be parked, and it must fit entirely on a paved surface. Semi-trailers detached from tractors may never be parked on residential streets or in front yards. Texas Transportation Code Section 621.101 governs weight limits on city streets.
Illegal overnight commercial parking: 100 dollar fine plus tow at owner expense.
