Under Chapter 10.80, Pico Rivera bans oversized vehicles, those over 18 feet long or 80 inches wide or high, from public streets between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., allowing them only with a 48-hour resident temporary permit that cannot be used for lodging.
Chapter 10.80, Oversized Vehicle Overnight Parking Regulations, defines an oversized vehicle as any vehicle, motorized or nonmotorized, exceeding eighteen feet in length, or eighty inches in width or height. No person may park or leave one standing on any public street or right-of-way between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. A resident of the property where the vehicle will be parked may obtain a temporary permit under Section 10.80.030 by showing proof of residency and vehicle ownership. The permit is valid only within the same block as the resident's address, for up to forty-eight hours, and no more than four permits may issue per vehicle each calendar month. Under Section 10.80.040 the vehicle may not be used for camping or lodging.
Parking an oversized vehicle on a public street between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. without a permit, using it beyond the same block or window, exceeding four permits per month, or living in a permitted vehicle brings citation and tow.
