Harford County, MD Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

1(G), added by Bill No. 04-24, sets a specific rule for recreational vehicles: a person shall not park a boat, recreational vehicle or trailer on any county road for more than 48 hours within any 30-day period. That 48-hour window is more generous than the 24-hour threshold Section 244-18 otherwise uses to authorize impounding an illegally parked vehicle, and the county wrote it into the same stopping-standing-and-parking section that governs general on-street parking rather than the commercial-vehicle article in Section 244-15, so the limit applies specifically to the road itself, not to a driveway or yard on private property.

Chapter 244's definitions section describes a trailer as any vehicle without motive power designed to be carried by persons or property and drawn by a motor vehicle, which covers boat trailers, travel trailers and utility trailers pulled behind an RV or truck alike. 1: an officer delivers or attaches a citation under Section 244-19, and the registered owner is presumed responsible and may pay the $25 fine set by Section 244-20(I) or elect to stand trial by notifying the county at least 5 days before the payment date.
