Tarpon Springs Zoning Code Section 42.00 governs parking of recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers in residential districts, with width, length, and storage-use restrictions on residentially zoned property.
Under Section 42.00 of the Comprehensive Zoning and Land Development Code, recreational vehicles parked in residential areas may not be used to store goods, products, or merchandise. A 2026 amendment further prohibits any vehicle or attached trailer wider than 96 inches (8 feet) from parking in residentially zoned districts, and bans detached trailers of any length from public streets, rights-of-way, and municipal parking areas in residential zones. Exceptions allow temporary stops for loading, unloading, work being performed nearby, or emergency repairs. The definition of vehicle is broad and includes motorized and non-motorized tractors, vans, trucks, flatbed pickups, and mobile equipment.
Tarpon Springs Code Enforcement issues notices of violation. Persistent violations are referred to the Code Enforcement Board, which can impose daily civil fines until compliance.
