Clearwater Community Development Code Section 3-1407 prohibits parking RVs, boats, trailers, and motor homes on residential rights-of-way and limits where larger units may be stored on residential lots.
Under CDC Sec. 3-1407, boats, boat trailers, hauling trailers, travel trailers, motor homes, and camping trailers may not be parked or stored on any public right-of-way in a residential zoning district. Boats over 20 feet, boat trailers over 25 feet (or more than five feet longer than the boat), and recreational vehicles are prohibited in the front setback or forward of the building line. These items may be parked in a side or rear setback behind the front building line only when screened by a six-foot solid fence, wall, or hedge and placed on a permitted permanent surface. No RV, travel trailer, or camper may be used for living, sleeping, or housekeeping outside an approved RV park.
Code compliance issues notices of violation followed by daily fines and special magistrate hearings until the vehicle is moved, screened, or removed from the property.
