Clearwater regulates on-street parking through Code Chapter 30 (Traffic and Motor Vehicles) and Community Development Code Section 3-1407, with stricter limits on residential rights-of-way for oversized and commercial vehicles.
Chapter 30 of the Clearwater Code of Ordinances governs traffic, motor vehicles, and parking on city streets, including stopping, standing, and parking restrictions, signed time limits, and tow-away enforcement. CDC Sec. 3-1407 supplements Chapter 30 by banning boats, boat trailers, hauling trailers, recreational vehicles, motor homes, camping trailers, commercial vehicles, race cars, dune buggies, farm equipment, go-karts, and ATVs from residential rights-of-way. Standard passenger vehicles may park on residential streets where signed limits permit. Florida Statutes Chapter 316 also applies to all city streets for general traffic and parking offenses.
Parking citations are issued for posted violations under Chapter 30; vehicles obstructing traffic or parked unlawfully may be towed under Florida Statute 316.1945.
