College Station, TX Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 545.302 splits its bans into levels. Under subsection (a), an operator may never stop, stand, or park on the roadway side of a vehicle already stopped or parked at the curb, which is double parking, nor on a sidewalk, in an intersection, or on a crosswalk. Subsection (b) is slightly softer: except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger, no standing or parking in front of a public or private driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, or within 30 feet on the approach to a flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign, or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway. The passenger exception applies only to the subsection (b) list; the subsection (a) prohibitions have no carve-out.

On duration, Texas has no statewide limit, and specifically no statewide 72-hour consecutive parking rule; time limits in College Station come from city code and posted signage. The university drives the local layer: residential permit parking zones protect neighborhoods adjacent to campus from student overflow, the campus zone requires a permit on weekdays, and game day restrictions apply on football Saturdays. Vehicles parked on the street must be registered and operable, and HOA neighborhoods may add their own on-street restrictions.
