Effingham County, GA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 3.32 of the Zoning Ordinance, On Street Parking, sets the ground rules for leaving a vehicle along a public road in unincorporated Effingham County. Section 3.32.3 confines ordinary on-street parking to local streets only, excluding collector and arterial roads from casual curbside parking altogether. Within that local-street category, the pavement width controls how much of the road residents may use: a local street with a pavement width of at least 28 feet allows parking on one side of the road, and a street with a pavement width of at least 36 feet allows parking on both sides.

Narrower local streets fall outside either threshold and, by the structure of the section, do not support lawful on-street parking at all.
