On unincorporated county roads, on-street parking is legal unless restricted by a resolution, ordinance, or posted traffic-control device. It is unlawful to park where parking has been restricted or prohibited, except to obey an officer or avoid a traffic conflict.
Section B of the county parking ordinance makes it unlawful to stand, park, or stop a vehicle on any Highway (county-classified street or road) where parking has been restricted or prohibited by Board resolution/ordinance or by approved regulatory devices such as signs. These prohibitions are in addition to state limits in CRS 42-4-1204. The Sheriff's Office enforces; report illegal on-road parking to the JeffCom non-emergency line at 303-980-7300. City streets in Lakewood, Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Golden follow those cities' municipal codes instead.
A class 2 petty offense: $25 fine, increasing to $35 and then $50 for failure to pay or appear. Illegally parked vehicles may be tagged and impounded.
