Lakewood, CO Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

010 lists two tiers of no-stopping zones. Subsection (A) bars stopping, standing, or parking on a sidewalk, within an intersection, on a crosswalk, between a safety zone and the curb (or within 30 feet of the zone unless the Traffic Engineer posts a different distance), alongside a street excavation where it would obstruct traffic, on the roadway side of a vehicle already parked at the curb, on a bridge or elevated structure, on railroad tracks, on a controlled-access highway, or in the median area between roadways of a divided highway.

Subsection (B) adds distance buffers around specific features: within five feet of any public or private driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, within 30 feet of the approach to a flashing beacon, signal, stop sign, or yield sign, and within 20 feet of a fire station driveway (75 feet on the opposite side when posted). Subsection (C) adds a 50-foot buffer around railroad crossings. None of these restrictions apply when a driver is stopping to avoid a traffic conflict or is following a police officer's or traffic-control device's direction.
