Fair Lawn limits each residence to two vehicles parked on the street nearby, with overflow vehicles requiring monthly permits from the Police Records Bureau or contact with non-emergency police.
Under Fair Lawn parking regulations, residents whose driveways cannot accommodate all household vehicles may park overflow vehicles on the street near their home, but only up to two vehicles per residence by default. Additional vehicles require permission, granted at the Chief of Police's discretion. Free monthly permits are available at the Records Bureau in Borough Hall (Room 106) and must be renewed each month. Residents can also call the police non-emergency number at 201-796-1400 prior to parking. Vehicles cannot block hydrants, no-parking zones, or otherwise impede traffic.
Parking tickets, towing at the owner's expense, and accumulating fines may apply. Repeat unpermitted parking can result in further enforcement action.
