Lawrence, MA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

010 lists the places where no one may stand or park a vehicle anywhere in the city, not just on posted streets. The list bars parking within an intersection, on a sidewalk or crosswalk, on a rural roadway, more than 12 inches from the curb where parking is allowed, in a lane that would leave less than a ten-foot clear passing lane, within ten feet of a fire hydrant, in front of or upon a private road or driveway without the owner's consent, within 20 feet of an intersecting way, within 25 feet of a fire station driveway (with a wider 75-foot no-parking zone on the opposite side where a "Fire Zone No Parking" sign is posted), unattended in a travel lane obstructing traffic flow, or on the left side of the street except where one-way streets allow it.

The section also bars parking in a municipal lot or right-of-way wherever signs or markings prohibit it, and in a parking meter space reserved by sign or other official means. 020, these prohibitions apply by default across the city regardless of whether a sign is present at that particular spot.
