WCC 70.410 authorizes the Board of County Commissioners to place official traffic-control devices restricting parking on county highways, and makes it unlawful to park in violation of those posted restrictions. WCC 70.395 requires vehicles at a curbed roadway to park parallel, right wheels to the curb. WCC 70.400 makes angle parking that extends into the paved or main-traveled part of the highway unlawful unless a sheriff's permit has been issued. These county rules apply only in the unincorporated area; Reno and Sparks streets follow city code.
A violation is a misdemeanor punishable under WCC 125.050 (WCC 70.600); an officer may affix a citation to an illegally parked vehicle requiring a court answer within 5 days (WCC 70.585).
