Oshkosh, WI Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Street parking in Oshkosh is shaped by one citywide overnight rule cited to Chapter 27-26 of the Municipal Code. Parking is prohibited year around from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The words "year around" mean this is not a winter-only rule, so the same hours apply in July as in January. The ban reaches all city streets and also city municipal lots where parking is allowed, which means moving a car from the curb into a municipal lot does not avoid it.

Oshkosh does take requests for overnight parking, and the request has its own deadline. Requests will not be accepted after 1 A.M., which falls before the 2:00 a.m. start of the restricted hours. A driver who notices at 2:00 a.m. that the car is still on the street is too late to ask for that night.

Overnight parking without a permit is rationed. The limit is a maximum of 3 nights in a 30-day period, and it applies anywhere in the city.
