Chatham County Sec. 12-302 prohibits parking or storing oversized vehicles, motor homes, trailers, semitrailers and truck tractors on the street or right-of-way adjacent to any residentially zoned property. Two exceptions apply: commercial vehicles actively loading, unloading or performing utility/construction work, and motorcoaches, trailer coaches or motor homes parked less than 24 hours. Standard passenger cars are not banned from residential streets by the county. The City of Savannah applies a parallel rule (Sec. 8-1003) with a 20-foot threshold on streets adjacent to residential lots.
