Grand Prairie Code Section 29-79 regulates garage sales and temporary sales. An application must be submitted and permit tags obtained from the Code Compliance manager or designee. No more than 2 garage sales, each not exceeding 3 consecutive days, may be conducted at any location within a 12-month period. Sales are limited to used personal household items — commercial merchandise, new goods, and consignment items are prohibited. The sale must be conducted on the residential property. Signs advertising the sale are subject to the city's sign regulations. Garage sale permits can be registered online through the city's Code Compliance division.
