Aurora requires property owners to clear snow and ice from adjacent sidewalks within 24 hours after snowfall and 48 hours after a snow emergency. Administrative fees of $25 (single-family) or $50 (all others) imposed for non-compliance.
Aurora City Code Β§126-313 requires property owners to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property clear of snow and ice. Snow must be removed within 24 hours after snowfall ends and 48 hours after a declared snow emergency. This applies even to sidewalks behind or outside fences adjacent to streets. An administrative fee of $25 for single-family properties and $50 for all others is imposed after 24 hours, and again after 48 hours if snow is not removed. The city plows public streets but sidewalk clearing is the property owner's responsibility.
$25 admin fee (single-family) or $50 (others) at 24 hours. Another fee at 48 hours. City may clear and bill.
