Anne Arundel County (unincorporated areas including Glen Burnie, Odenton, Severna Park) does not have a county-wide ordinance mandating residential snow removal from sidewalks — many neighborhoods lack sidewalks. Where HOAs exist (Crofton, Piney Orchard), covenants may require clearing. City of Annapolis requires property owners and occupants to clear snow and ice from public sidewalks abutting their property within 24 hours after snowfall ends (Annapolis City Code Title 17). Clear path minimum 36 inches. Ice must be treated with sand or salt. Elderly/disabled may request city assistance. Property owner liability exists for slip-and-fall regardless of ordinance.
