PBC Code Β§14-31 requires owners of vacant lots to keep grass and weeds cut to a height not exceeding 18 inches. Standing water creating mosquito breeding sites is prohibited under PBC Mosquito Control regulations. Construction materials, abandoned vehicles, and trash accumulation are violations. Notice of violation issued with 10-day cure period. If not abated, county may abate and lien property for cost plus administrative fees ($150 minimum).
Initial violation: $150-$250. Continued: $100/day. County abatement: actual cost plus $150 admin fee, lien recorded.
