Ceres, CA Public Conduct: Outdoor Smoking Restrictions (2026)

Ceres Municipal Code § 6.03.040, part of the city's Smoking Pollution Control chapter, lists places where smoking is prohibited and specifically bars it "when children are present" in public parks, playgrounds, and near schools and daycare facilities. The same chapter also prohibits smoking in enclosed public places, service lines, and workplaces, and lets any business owner declare their establishment nonsmoking. Enforcement falls to the Fire Chief, Police Chief, or Code Enforcement Officer under § 6.03.100, and violations are infractions punishable under § 6.03.130 by escalating fines of $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second, and $500 for each offense thereafter within the same year.
