Saline County, AR Public Conduct: Outdoor Smoking Restrictions (2026)

Adopted originally as Ord. No. 1988-025 and amended in 1998 and again by Ord. No. 06 declares it Saline County government policy to provide a smoke-free campus for all employees and visitors, covering both smoking of any tobacco product and use of smokeless or "spit" tobacco. The ban reaches every person on or in county-owned property: there is no smoking in any Saline County vehicle at any time, and none on county property, grounds, lawns, shelters or steps. The only carve-out is personal-vehicle parking lots, and even there smoking is prohibited within 50 feet of any building entrance.

Smoking on county roads themselves is excluded from the ordinance, since roads are treated differently from county grounds and buildings.
